A house can give you shelter.
A community can give you somewhere to belong.

The vision for DeLauer House — HTC: Healing Through Community is to create something that feels increasingly rare in this world: a place where people genuinely know one another, care for one another, learn from one another, and have room to simply be human.

I imagine a beautiful old home filled with life again — doors opening to guests, meals shared around a long table, gardens growing outside, animals in the pasture, children learning, artists creating, people teaching what they know, and strangers slowly becoming friends.

A place where someone can arrive needing rest and leave carrying inspiration.

A place where generations mix. Where knowledge is shared instead of lost. Where creativity, nature, hospitality, education, sustainability, and community all exist under the same roof.

DeLauer House will be a bed & breakfast, gathering place, learning space, working homestead, and community — but the heart of it will always be belonging.

We envision gardens and homegrown food. Animals and open land. Workshops and classes. Art and music. Shared meals and meaningful conversations. Opportunities for people to contribute their talents, learn new ones, and rediscover parts of themselves they may have forgotten.

And we want the impact to reach far beyond the walls of the House.

The dream is to build something sustainable enough to give back — creating opportunities, supporting families, preserving skills and stories, helping people discover what they are capable of, and proving that community itself can be a powerful form of healing.

This isn't about escaping the world.

It's about remembering what the world can feel like when we take care of one another.

DeLauer House is still becoming.

The gardens haven't been planted yet.
The tables haven't been filled yet.
The doors haven't opened yet.

But every meaningful place begins the same way:

Someone sees it before it exists.

I see it.

And little by little, person by person, I believe we can build it.
